Music director question
Our parish is in the middle of an issue that is heating up. Does the music director (choir leader, organist, and music teach for parish school) need to be Catholic? Put in your two cents.

There was a time when I wasn't really sure. The Church seemed too complicated. But as I have aged, it think that if the Catholic Church did not exist, I would yearn for something like the Church. If you can get one, the new Ignatius Study Bible is really nice I got mine as a Christmas present for myself. I think they are on backorder until later this spring. My grandfather told me that in his day they would hand out Gideon Bibles at the public schools. He said that he read much of the New Testament as a child in his fifth grade classroom. That must have been back in the 70's and it was in a small town. I wonder if it would be possible to hand out Bibles...

I can't believe the US Bishops are suing the government for money. They did not speak out about abortion or mutilation of children, but they sue the government with money donated from offerings made to God.
