Re: A possible contradiction - goodness of creation
Whether or not they were given sanctifying grace immediately is a debated theological point. I think the majority opinion is that they were, but not for certain. But had they died without sanctifying grace, they would have enjoyed an earthly paradise of some sort. It's only because of inherited Orig...

He's Catholic.
Also, note that a majority of both houses voted in favor. More grandstanding.

Re: Washington State Passes Law Against the Seal of the Confessional

I read and enjoyed Three Men in a Boat (after reading To Say Nothing of the Dog), but I just couldn't get into this one.

Re: A possible contradiction - goodness of creation
Correct. But goodness and holiness are not identical. One can be good in many ways, but at the same time not be holy.

No. Cardinals often come from the ranks of archbishops, but many archbishops aren't cardinals.

He's also not a cardinal, and while it's not impossible for a non-cardinal to be elected, it would be most unexpected.

Pardon the Interruption?
I enjoy sports, but I stopped listening to sports talk radio and similar things when I realized people were way too invested in them. When my favorite teams win, yay. If not, oh well.

Re: A possible contradiction - goodness of creation
You're taking a fundamentally Pelagian line of thought. We do not get to Heaven by being good. Period, end of story.
Not true. One cannot be holy without God's grace. One cannot be good without God's grace.

The theory I most often hear is that Pilate wasn't interested in the answer. It's more of a rhetorical question: "The truth? Srsly?"

Re: Smaller liberal arts colleges closing
It's an effect of the baby-bust and of the growing realization that many people don't need a college degree to pursue what they want in life. At least, they don't need to assume crippling debt.
I am not sure that all liberal arts colleges are anti-male, but I'm sure they exist.

They are two distinct categories. A thing is good to the extent it is what it ought to be. A thing (rational being) is holy if it has sanctifying grace.BobCatholic wrote: ↑Wed Apr 16, 2025 3:45 pm What is the difference between good and holy? Only God's grace?
