Re: What are you reading now?
Bergsma cowrote a good book taking down the JEPD theory too. Much of what passes for modern Biblical scholarship is nothing but theorizing in the absence of any evidence and then presenting the theories as certain.

The NAB is much the same, though I don't blame him if he's never looked at its ridiculously bad footnotes.

I think it's too early to tell, and I think it's a mistake to try to pigeonhole him as a Francis 2.0 or a turn-back-the-clock traditionalist. Let him tell us who he is and what he's about.

I think the arguments in favor of their being pseudonymous are poor. The new (old) school scholars of the historical-critical era were in favor of that sort of thing.

Re: Dispensation for missing Mass on Vacay
It is generally considered that it's permissible to take a vacation on which it is not practical to attend Mass on Sunday as long as it happens very infrequently. I had a brother priest furious with me for saying this in a FB group, but fortunately other guys agreed with me. It's good that it bother...

I really enjoy seeing all the pieces that make up the completed song.
BB recordings often have double-tracked vocals (i.e., recorded twice). These guys just have two people sing the same part, especially the lead.

Are you familiar with the Fendertones on YouTube? They're a Beach Boys cover band with professional musicians who really know what they're doing. Mike and Al have both taken part in some of their work.
