Re: Replacement Theology

My understanding of the current status: The Old Covenant is not salvific, but the Jews remain God's chosen people in a way that the rest of us are not.

She may well be dealing with ADD. Don't expect her to focus on anything for a long time, and don't think that calling her out will help. Go in bite-sized doses.

Doom wrote: Sat Nov 29, 2025 11:17 am But given the time that daily Mass is usually held, from as early as noon to as late as 5 PM, a daily communicant could be fasting for as much as 18 hours a day. That seems unreasonable.
It was also forbidden to celebrate Mass after noon.

Jimmy Akin on the date of the Crucifixion: https://www.catholic.com/audio/caf/the-accurate-date-of-the-crucifixion TL;DR: 33 A.D. is the traditional date. 30 A.D. is a more recent proposal and probably the current majority position. No other years are reasonably possible. Opinions don't follow denom...

In 1953, Pope Pius XII allowed water, and a few years later he shortened the timespan for food to three hours. Pope St. Paul VI reduced it to one hour in 1964. This is why the mandate to receive Communion at...

Re: But Why Associate Clowns with Mass?

From what I can tell, it dates to the 1930s (maybe 1932). I saw one site that says "late 1800s", but no one else agrees. Most sites link it to the founding of the Catholic Medical Association, formally established in 1932.
