This is true of American liberals in general which is why they have hijacked public school systems - to indoctrinate other people's children since they have so few of their own.

Ironically, since the lockdown (where people spent too much time online), the influence of Western-style liberalism has been increasing in my state.

It has been there for a long time. Nehru was very much a Western-style leftist, which is why the West adored him. But I think the current widespread popularity of Hindu nationalism pushes very much against it.

I had social acceptance of gay marriage in mind

But surely the traditional Hindus are not in favor of that.

That's true nationally. I was referring to my state, Kerala.

I think it is growing in places like India because Western countries are imposing the condition that they will only provide financial aid or investment if they legalize gay marriage.

I think it is largely due to cultural imperialism by the West.

We had a supreme court case last decade that decriminalzed homosexuality and had generally progressive content. We had another supreme court case this year, however, which declined to start gay marriage, saying it's the job of the legislature.

The phenomenon I refer to seems to be primarily driven by the media, social media, movies, series, etc. In addition to English language entertainment (which has lots of viewership, particularly among the younger generations in my state) - and the content, as you know, takes a strongly ideological view on one side - the are also productions in the vernacular.

I don't have enough knowledge of foreign aid etc., so I can't comment.

I recall a comment some years ago that likened modern Western education to a warrior culture sending its children off to be educated by pacifist monks.
