It's not the first time he's been found to have been involved in the authorship of some seriously questionable subject matter that him and his supporters have tried to hide.

Basically the guy who's in charge of the Church's doctrinal office is a Herbert Marcusian/Michel Foucaultian hedonist trying to pathologize his hedonism into his theology.

"One of the chapters describes 16-year-old girl having an erotic encounter with Jesus Christ."

Is Martin Scorsese going to make a movie out of this?

Sounds like Fernandez has converted from Catholicism to the Pelvic religion (worshiping the Pelvis as a god)

I think the sexualization of mysticism is probably more mainstream than we like to admit. That is why people don't see the big deal about Tucho. I saw a number of apologists (wrongly, I have to add) cite The Ecstasy of St. Teresa as an example of this kind of sexualization. But the idea is so pervasive.

The Christopher West version of Theology of the Body is also a contributor.

I read the whole book online and while it's cringey, I wouldn't say 'porno'. It's reasonably innocent and immature but I believe he was quite young when he wrote it. He cites John of the Cross and other Saints who've drawn from eros themes that mature into agape love.

I went off Christopher West using a section on sodomy from the moral theology of Heribert Jone. That turned my stomach.

He was in his early/mid 30s. And he kept on writing about these topics into his 40s. I don't think the book is pornographic, either, at least not in the strict sense; but it does reveal an unhealthy degree of interest on the part of its author in things that should be intimate.
