Major League Baseball sees the light

I'm the first to shoot my mouth off in this section?! I always knew I was destined for great things!

This would be more suitable in a sports section (maybe it's on the list of Things to Do for Z), but it's news with a political bent, so I'm sticking it here.

As we all know, June is the month we observe in honor of the Sacred Heart. And we are too aware that this observation vies with the demonic pride which has infested virtually every segment of life, including sports. Where can one turn without seeing the misappropriation of the rainbow, the sign of God's promise of mercy?

Finally, there is a hint that sanity is starting to make a comeback in the bottom of the ninth inning. MLB honchos have decided to mothball rainblow jerseys, no doubt fearing a full-fledged meltdown. Heck, maybe the commish will even yank the disgusting Dodger spectacle off the mound scheduled for this Friday.

I think sports are good in the pub or here if it's political. It's too quiet here for now to need a lot of specialty subforums. Maybe if we get busier I will revisit the idea. So I guess it's on the list but pretty far down. :-D

There was pushback against the pride jerseys from the players in the NHL this past season as well. I do hope you are right it's a fading fad.

Let me express my appreciation for the Angeleños who showed up at Dodger Stadium to express their outrage over the mockery of Our Lord and His consecrated Religious. Here is a nice view of the Faithful marching with signs (and rosaries, I hope).

The Dodger admins decided to present whatever award they had in store for the group an hour before game time to a mostly empty stadium. Well played, wonder boys. Well played.

Meanwhile, National Review issued a call for MLB to "Stuff your Peanuts and Cracker Jacks." I'd post the link, but it's probably behind a paywall. (Friendly reminder: If you don't subscribe to NR, you should.)

The big 3 professional "sports" in the US are simply entertainment franchises like Marvel or Pokemon.

Christian media outlets gave this franchise a jillion dollars worth of free publicity.

The Dodgers don't need publicity.

As far as NR is concerned I find Michael B. Doherty insightful but other than that - can't be bothered.

I wonder how people would react if instead of being dressed as Catholic Sisters, the "Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence" wore Blackface?
