Agree. There are people who are just pining to see another film from Mel Gibson.

I am not amongst them

Re: I met a girl

Like what if I''m going somewhere for the weekend and miss church, to her that is a mortal sin and will end up in hell because of that. This is a topic where there needs to be a lot more information. Assisting at Mass on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation is a basic precept of the Church. To miss ...

Re: More and more states are trying to introduce Bible Classes in Public Schools

Back before the earth cooled, when my son was in high school, one of his AP History classes did a semester on the "Three Monotheistic Religions: Judaism, Islam and Christianity". All of the Christianity study was Fundamentalist, including the expert guest speakers (Southern Baptist and Non...

This is one that I will watch after it comes to streaming, it takes something EXTRA to get me out to a theatre anymore. Most often I go to a theatre for Met Live in HD Operas.

Re: HELP! Electric appliances failing...

NAYY and YMMV but I like Best Buy for appliances. Not sure what the return policy is but I  the Geek Squad. I think because they are "in house" for repairs they don't just send a repair person without trying other simple fixes first (it's how I learned about resetting the breaker f...

Re: HELP! Electric appliances failing...

FIXED! It was something to do with the fuse box itself, in that particular "hole". It was a quick fix and now the dryer works! The big question, do we bring back in the old dryer (it is on the back patio right now) and see if it works too, return the new dryer (assuming Lowe's has a decen...

Re: The Passion of the Christ: Resurrection

To be fair Disney is particularly egregious in this regard. But as far as I know Passion 2 isn't even supposed to start filming until 2025. That makes much more sense. My Godson is in the film industry, it really is a "small town" of an industry and he says nothing has been green lit yet ...

Re: The Passion of the Christ: Resurrection

The good deacon's article from years ago still reflects the opinions I hold on this sequel https://decentfilms.com/blog/passion-sequel Edited to add. If this film is going to be released in the spring, why is there only a "concept trailer"? Post production takes 6 months to a year, there o...

Re: HELP! Electric appliances failing...

Spoke with the electrician yesterday (he is the one our church uses for everything). He believes it is a fuse problem in the house because the likelihood of two dryers having the same fault is astronomical. He will be at the house on Wednesday.

Re: HELP! Electric appliances failing...

Screw in fuses are an indication the wiring is pretty old. I think it's probably best to have a pro look at it. Yep. There was a major wiring electrical upgrade back when Brad with us, brought it all up to code. We have had some serious storms lately, the office and church building lost random thin...

Re: HELP! Electric appliances failing...

I am not a fix it guy either but from what I'm reading it could also be either a faulty power cord or a clogged vent. Did they replace the power cord when they installed the new dryer? Sometimes new appliances don't come with cords. I think it's a bit weird that the installation crew didn't check t...

Re: A Major Realignment?

When dealing with such an openly anti-Catholic bigot is it really wrong to point that out? Saying don't vote for the anti-Catholic bigot is not the same as saying vote for Trump. You yourself just said you chose a third alternative. I am happy there were alternatives on my ballot. I will never talk...

Re: HELP! Electric appliances failing...

You said he replaced the fuses ...I assume that means he reset the breaker to the dryer specifically. Sometimes they sort of half trip so they look fine but aren't. Turning it off and back on again can sometimes fix this problem. Because they are located in a place where I can never see them, I kno...

HELP! Electric appliances failing...

So, a month or so ago, our electric dryer stopped working. It would come on, but, heat would never go on. DS ordered a new heating element and installed it, the problem persisted. Assuming it was the dryer, I bought a new dryer which was to be delivered on Saturday. Came home from work on Thursday, ...
