Re: I have new found respect for New Mexico!

Pluto's biggest moon is Charon, which is about half the diameter and 1/8 the mass of Pluto. It's big enough that both bodies rotate around a point outside of Pluto, but Charon isn't bigger. This is true for all bodies. They orbit about a barycenter, a common center of mass. As it turns out the bary...

Looks like she earned "le __." The letter grade may have faded. But I'm stumped why a German teacher would use a French article for a grade.

Do it! Better yet, drive there yourself and drop it off. Get the media involved. If it doesn't violate any FERPA law, maybe let the camera hone in on it. I'm betting a great-grandkid or two would love to be involved.

Edit: So, what did this flower of the Great War earn on her report card anyway?

Re: Bishops need to address Trump immigration crackdown: Pope Leo

I believe we should welcome immigrants to this country. But I would expect them to "knock on the door" rather than "barge in." I don't see any way that expectation can be characterized as unreasonable or "inhumane." This entire post is save-worthy. Thanks for the thoug...

This is a really good question, and I hope someone with the expertise in this area will post a response. Meanwhile, I think you may look into what the Knights of Columbus may have to offer.

Re: I have new found respect for New Mexico!

I said it has a moon. Ergo, it's a planet. Obi-Wan pointed out it has several (five that we know of). To my way of thinking, this makes a more powerful argument than a single moon.

Point of fact, I was pretty sure it had two, not just one. So much to learn here!

I still consider it a planet. It has a moon. So there.

Absolutely agree. I read The Shining and 11/22/63 because my wife 𝚍̶𝚎̶𝚖̶𝚊̶𝚗̶𝚍̶ requested it. I slammed the book shut after finishing the second and swore I would never pick up another one again.

Did you know that it is racist and white supremacist to be against arson? GIA publications think so. Incredible. Out of curiosity, I looked up this publication site. The front page asked "Where do you want to go?" Well, so many options! How about Elmira, New York? I've always wanted to vi...

If you want a good look at the parlous state of liturgical music, read Why Catholics Can't Sing: The Culture of Catholicism and the Triumph of Bad Taste by Thomas Day. Here's one of my favorite lines: "An anonymous wag once defined the modern liturgical expert as 'an affliction sent by God, so ...

Forgiveness implies the sinner may change. Satan, the father of lies, will never change.
