Making a separate thread not to derail the previous one. In what sense is he an Islamist, and how can he an Islamist and Communist simultaneously?

I know this is a cheap shot, but ...
Because he is politically progressive and is thus able to hold and espouse two simultaneously contradictory and mutually exclusively positions ... and have those positions enthusiastically accepted by the like minded.
I can only repeat my position that nobody should be allowed to vote unless they understand the content of Econ 101, Econ 102, and Stat 101.

Islam is in no way incompatible with communism or any other form of totalitarianismJack3 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 19, 2025 12:41 amMaking a separate thread not to derail the previous one. In what sense is he an Islamist, and how can he an Islamist and Communist simultaneously?
If you ever feel like Captain Picard yelling about how many lights there are, it is probably time to leave the thread.

What policies related to Islam are he advocating for?

They both espouse absolutism, but when one form of absolutism rubs up against the other, they'll fight like two scorpions in a jar. The beginning of the end of Soviet rule was the invasion of Afghanistan.

A quote from his father Mamood:
Not implying; Specifically stating. The apple didn't fall far from the tree. Like father, like son."Suicide bombing needs to be understood as a feature of modern political violence rather than stigmatized as a mark of barbarism."
"We need to recognize the suicide bomber, first and foremost, as a category of soldier"
Re: Zohran Mamdani
He has said that Muslims like his family were the "real victims" of 9/11 because they experienced "Islamaphobia" (which is not a thing) after the attack. This definitely seems to have the effect of minimizing the mass murder of thousands that happened on that day.

Re: Zohran Mamdani
In Western modernity, where the affluent train their young to be warriors for cultural suicide and celebrate the signs of their own demise, having mutually contradictory beliefs and motives is not problematic; it is mandatory.
Mamdani is a Western socialist Moslem. He has no issue with destructive policies with devastating results, for only in the ashes of a civilization can the true society arise. It works very well ... witness the triumphs of Lenin and Stalin.

"The real victims" - did Mamdani actually say that, or is it just Vance's paraphrase?Doom wrote: ↑Thu Nov 20, 2025 5:46 pmHe has said that Muslims like his family were the "real victims" of 9/11 because they experienced "Islamaphobia" (which is not a thing) after the attack. Was there an increase in hate crimes against Muslims after 9/11?
That's the association fallacy and then something else. In the list of kings of Israel you'll find many apples who fell far from the tree.
Re: Zohran Mamdani
Nope, but there was an increase in attacks on Jews committed by Muslims, and not just in the United States, but internationally.
