Sorry, we only have oatmeal raisin. You have to turn to the Dark Side to get other options, I'm sure that is what turned Anakin
Actually, I like Oatmeal raisin, but my favorite is oatmeal butterscotch, as a kid my mother basically refused to make them anymore because I could eat the entire batch in about an hour, even better if you eat them immediately after coming out of the oven. Come to think of it, it is amazing I wasn't diagnosed with diabetes about 20 year earlier.

My family attend exclusively a Society of St. Pius X priory. That's the house and basis of operation for the Society in our state, so we have four priests. Only one is there all the time, he heads up the priory and school. We also have five semi-cloistered sisters.

I've been Catholic for over 25 years and for 23 or so of those years I've been attending the TLM at least semi-regularly.
Re: Do you attend TLM or Novus Ordo?
One thing I've noticed is that all the "big" Catholic apologists will criticize people for attacking the Novus Ordo, but none of them actually attend the Novus Ordo themselves. Trent Horn, Matt Fradd, Suan Sonna, and every other big name I can mention, attend either the Latin Mass exclusively or Eastern Catholic Churches. I have to admit this irritates me, it seems hypocritical to me.

I attend both the novus and the TLM, so I feel free to attack both (for different reasons).Doom wrote: βMon Jul 03, 2023 3:49 pm One thing I've noticed is that all the "big" Catholic apologists will criticize people for attacking the Novus Ordo, but none of them actually attend the Novus Ordo themselves. Right, attack probably isn't the right word, but the thing that annoys me is they criticize Catholics who say things like "in many parishes, the way the Novus Ordo is celebrated is nearly blasphemous" (true) and even the "normal" Novus Ordo is often far less reverent than it ought to be, with everyone showing up in a t-shirt and shorts even in mild weather, 20-minute long "sign of peace" displays, priests telling jokes at inappropriate times during the Mass, applause and awkward chatter, these apologists will say "oh no you have to stick with it, even if it is not reverent it's still Jesus in the Eucharist" but given that they don't actually attend the Novus Ordo themselves, their encouraging others to stick with it doesn't really sit well with me, their own avoidance of the new rite seems to be an indication that they themselves agree with the criticisms but they won't admit critics have a point.

TLM, because in general it's objectively superior.

Oh well.
Somehow I had in my mind that you were the main instigator.
Thank you for your patience as I build the board. I have about 1/16 to go.

My mother's recipe says, "Crisp piped savoury biscuits with crunchy celery seeds and a slightly cheesy flavour."Jackie wrote: βSun Jul 09, 2023 12:40 pmThe cookies sound good. What are celery whirls?
If you're wanting some, you're not too late as they haven't happened yet. XD

I attend an NO Mass, but that's because there isn't a Latin Mass offered within a 100-mi radius of "Hooterville." I love attending a TLM Mass and would do it in a heartbeat if one were available.

Re: Do you attend TLM or Novus Ordo?
I confess to being entirely confused by the question. When I read "Novus Ordo," I assume someone is referring to a Latin Mass, inasmuch as the phrase itself is Latin. TLM (Tridentine Latin Mass) simply means more Latin (including the readings), more vestments, more incense.
One of those choices should set aside the sadness of a piano and/or guitar liturgy, replete with altar girls and banners and a priest who works the crowd on the way up to the sanctuary lacking a communion rail which means every busybody in the church has business all over the place. (A big fat no to that, by the way, if I can avoid it.)

Be aware that the priest may have inherited the situation with the banners and no altar rail, and that he may have other things to address, or the trust of parishioners to gain.

I mean, they sound quite tasty--how can you go wrong with a slightly cheesy flavor?. They're just not cookies.

If they have only celery seeds and not the nasty cellulose stringy thing itself, I'm fine.
