I thought my kids would have no interest in watching The Song of Bernadette... and it started out that way. The acting in a film from the 1940s is a bit different from now. But, they were eventually won over and really enjoyed it.
The next one we watched was The Miracle of Our Lady of Fatima (1952) - again, thinking it would probably flop in their interest/enjoyment.
Wrong again. Initially they thought the acting was wonky and then found themselves really enjoying it.
These were just random suggestions. I'm not certain where to go from here. Any suggestions of good ones? I was thinking about the one about St. Thomas More.

Re: Movies about Catholic Saints and Historical Figures
A Man for All Seasons is indeed a very good movie.
Beckett has Richard Burton and Peter O'Toole (the latter in fine scenery-chewing mode).
The Reluctant Saint is about St. Joseph of Cupertino.
I am not aware of anyone who has succeeded in making a good movie about St. Francis. Brother Sun, Sister Moon is Francis as a proto-hippie.

Thanks for these suggestions.
It is leaning towards The Reluctant Saint tonight.
